1. Alternative Power – signed up for wind energy with CL&P
2. Compost
3. Recycle
4. Paperless Bills
5. Green cleaning supplies
6. Organic linens, towels, Q-tips, feminine products, etc.
7. Low/No VOC paint
8. Energy efficient appliances
9. CFL or LED Light bulbs
10. Unplug appliances not in use
11. Use recycled paper products (paper towels, napkins, TP, tissue)
12. Carbon offsets when possible
13. Reusable grocery bags
14. Shop locally when possible
15. Turn off lights when leaving a room
16. Recycled paper used for business cards and brochures
17. Recycle printer cartridges
18. Utilize our shredded paper for packing material
19. Consistently monitor windows and doors for gaps
20. Aluminum water bottles
21. Use glass containers for leftovers instead of plastic
22. Use primarily cold water for all laundry
23. Use replaceable head toothbrushes
24. We use live trees for Christmas and plant them in the spring
25. Committed to planting the equivalent of 12 tress annually on our property
26. Recycle greeting cards and use for note/scratch paper or gift tags
27. Use primarily cloth napkins instead of paper
28. Recycled printer paper
29. Shop using eco-friendly suppliers
30. Bank online
31. Ticketless airline travel
32. Cancelled New York Times, read it online
33. Paycheck is Direct Deposit
34. Turn off the water while brushing teeth, etc.
35. Adjusted our thermostats, 2 degrees each season
36. Keep all filters clean/changed
